I suppose I should post something about my trip to San Francisco, and I’ll get to that, but first, I’ve totally got to geek out about this:
Image from The Digital Bits.
Yes, Police Squad!, the true descendant of the ZAZ style after “Airplane!” (ZAZ was rather fond of the exclaimation point). It only ran for six episodes, and unleashed Leslie Nielsen as a comic lead on an unsuspecting TV public. And now it’s coming to DVD. Life is good.
I used to have all of those on VHS. I had taped them off of the television at some point. Funny stuff.
“Where you from? Balllldy-more?” HA!
The best ever were the fake freeze framers at the end of each episode.
“Say when, Frank”
“Wh–”
End credits roll
You’re right, life is good.
Oh yeah…
“Who are you and how did you get in here?”
“I’m a locksmith. And I’m a locksmith.”
Thanks to IMDB for refreshing my memory. Man, I could do this all day.
Oh, and one IMDB *didn’t* have.
(Frank disguising his phone with a handkerchief over the phone)
“Hello, Sally? Sally Decker?”
(on Sally’s end, in a completely different nasal voice):”…I’d like to talk to you”.
